Five Foods to Boost the Immune System (for women and men!)
The healing qualities of food have been acknowledged by cultures all over
the globe. Below is a list of foods that strengthen the immune system. So you can eat your
way to health while avoiding colds and other illnesses that may keep your body from performing at its best...
1. Broccoli - vitamin C (more than citrus fruits!); one of the strongest antioxidants, calcium
2. Carrots - beta-carotene; stops free radical formation
3. Olive Oil - vitamin E; stimulates production of the body's natural killer cells that seek out and destroy viruses and bacteria
4. Brown Rice - vitamin B6; restores immune function especially when the
body is fighting any type of infection, aids nerve impulse transmission, assists with energy metabolism, and synthesizes red blood cells.
5. Pumpkin Seeds - zinc; increases the level of circulatory immune cells. Zinc deficiencies can impair both male and female fertility. Zinc plays a role in semen and testosterone production in men, and in ovulation and fertility in women.
tips for a healthy happy pregnancy
1. Morning Sickness Relief can come from smelling or sucking on a lemon or by taking a walk outside.
You can also try putting pressure on your HC6 point. This point, used in Shiatsu, is three inches below the wrist on the underside of the arm.
Apply pressure, with your thumb or fingertips, 4 times a day for 5 to 10 minutes a day. If nausea is really bad try applying pressure with wristbands
(readily available at pharmacies for treating motion sickness).
2. Fatigue and restless sleep are body signs that you do need rest! Work with the fatigue, not against it.
Eat fresh produce for energy and limit sugary foods, which can take a toll on your immune system. Drinking plenty of
water can also perk you up. Water is essential for the growth of the baby's placenta.
